You can never go wrong with anything denim. What more with double denim, right?
If you’ve been subscribing to my blog ever since, you would know how much of a fan I am of denim. It is just one of my closet staples that I could probably not live without. I am oftentimes a lazy bum who doesn’t bother preparing her outfit for a day in the night before so I almost always end up having no time to mix and match my clothes. But with denim? I am good to go. Knowing that it can be paired with almost anything, I can instantly count on it – either with a statement tee, midriff top, or a simple monochromatic cami. See, that’s the beauty of denim for me. As much of a minimalist I am in my personal style, denims are effortlessly versatile as well. You can dress it down or dress it up without going overboard.
That’s why, for this OOTD, I chose to show my love for denim by wearing two of its styles together. One is a denim one-piece button-down and the other is this denim jacket I recently got from H&M. (Brief story behind the jacket: I had to get my bank certificate from the bank in our hometown province which meant that for me to go there, I had to ride a bus for 8 hours straight and then go back again to Manila in not less than 24 hours. Note: I was so freaking exhausted. So yeah, because my trip was unexpected, I had no other clothes with me besides the shirt and jeans I was wearing that day. Fortunately, the nearest mall from the bus terminal had an H&M shop and from the moment I saw this jacket, I knew I wasn’t going to let it go.)
I also had some errands to do that day and attend my cousin-in-law’s birthday party so I knew I had to be comfortable in my clothes. I, therefore, chose to pair this double denim outfit with my black Nike Air shoes to be more comfortable and look more casual. It’s also been a widely-accepted fashion cheat sheet that you should choose a bag or belt that has the same color as your shoes. I believe this is not always the case but still, I ended up wearing my metallic black shoulder bag and some choker necklace.
